Witch Whisk ~ Altar Blessing Broom

ALTAR broom for ritual use, practical use, or decoration. 

The bristles of the broom are often used for cleansing surfaces, clearing stagnant or  negative energy. The ritual broom can be used to sweep the air throughout your home during every New Moon, or to cleanse your sacred space before and after magical work. For deeper work the bristles can be used when you feel jinxed, unlucky, or like there’s a cloud of negative energy over hanging over you.

Broom Bristle Ritual: At dusk, take a bristle of your broom, a needle (or a spindle), and a twig of thyme. Hold in your left hand, and with your right hand hold your hair up. Then spin three times anticlockwise as you say:

EVIL EYE LOOK AWAY,
RETURN FROM WHENCE YOU CAME
OR WITH THE BROOM I’LL SWEEP YOU,
WITH MY HAIR I’LL WHIP YOU,
WITH THE NEEDLE I’LL PRICK YOU,
WITH THYME I WILL BURN YOU.

After you do this, take a strand of your hair, the broom bristle, and the thyme twig and burn them. Smudge around yourself and then continue smudging by going from room to room.
